Spiritual Warfare

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not harm you, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:12).
Oftentimes, before I speak, I take hours, sometimes days reminding myself who God choose me to be! The opposition and attack of the enemy can be so severe, and I take my assignment so serious, if I’m not careful I will literally slip into depression. The devil has almost succeeded on numerous occasions in convincing me, I’m a fraud! That Jesus didn’t choose me to preach, that it’s completely my imagination! Considering my past and varies other factors, it wouldn’t be a stretch. BUT GOD!!! As I read through the books I’ve published and previous sermons I’ve preached, I am reminded – the Spirit of the Lord not only choose me but will cover and speak through me.
No, I don’t use breathing patterns – no, I don’t hoop – no, I don’t run around the pulpit – no, I will not be telling anyone to high-five, slap or shake their neighbor throughout the message – no, I am not charming when I preach, and probably won’t make you laugh. Chances are the Lord is going to use me to sternly challenge our integrity, faith, humility, character, obedience or capacity to love. And, after the message you will either curse me or thank God!
Though, I am different than most – God is still God! But, I have to fight to believe Jesus because the emeny wants me to go somewhere and shut-up! The cost is expensive! For me, it means trying not to loose my mind in the mist of psychological (spiritual) warfare!
If you have similar challenges, remember and meditate on who the Lord has called you to be before the foundation of the earth and feast on His Holy Word, allowing the Spirit of God to manifest that which He has anointed you to do.

Severing Attachments

As women in ministry, especially single women, many of us are constantly searching out intimate leadership. Someone to help nourish our call, develop our gift or, a divine covenant that will help coin (create, conceive, et al.) or strengthen our assignment. However, because the Spirit and Word of God is so diluted in this culture, the Holy Spirit is saying, “My daughters must prioritize learning from Me! The need is too great!” Jesus said, this is why He is SEVERING ties of those who many of us desire to learn from. Thus saith the LORD our God, “Let go and follow Me!”

Does this mean we don’t submit to leadership in our churches? No! Does this mean we don’t submit to our pastor’s vision? No! Does this mean we don’t accept godly council, correction or wisdom? Absolutely, not! THIS MEANS we stop entertaining the idea or desire of having a “mid-wife.” This means we stop entertaining the idea or having a desire for a senior or prominent spiritual person to guide us regularly in our assignment or ministry. THIS MEANS we stay at the Master’s feet (Luke 10:38-42). This means we deepen our capacity to hear the Shepherd’s voice (John 10:27-28)! This means we return to the Overseer of our souls (1 Peter 2:25)! And, this means we pursue Jesus (Matthew 11:29)!

May we have the discipline to first seek the kingdom of God and all His righteousness! May we study to show ourselves approve, first to God!

It’s a LIE!

“Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 2:4-6).

Rejection can be an illusion!
Before the foundation of the world you were chosen!

In the eyes and heart of men Jesus was rejected, but that didn’t stop Him from being King of King’s or LORD or Lord’s! No matter how He was undervalued, hated and crucified, Jesus sits at the right had of the Father! And, every knee shall bow, sooner or later.

Oftentimes, especially in the world of social media, we can grab onto this illusion of rejection because we think that our confirmation comes from men’s confession. But, men are made of mere dust. Our soul will abide in eternity and will answer to One name. Humans do not decide how effective or useful we truly are, or have been.

I am reminded of Matthew 10:22 which reads, “You will be hated by all for My namesake, but He who endures to the end shall be saved.” And, believe me, hatred stings!!!! Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.” The heart of men, when exposed in it’s natural state will burn! But, I thank God that Jesus is able to keep us from falling. Will you trust Him in the process? Even when He is exposing those who are for you and those who secretly (or, publically) are against you.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, Strengthen us dear God, don’t let us fall by the wayside, hold us by Your powerful truth!

Steps

BEFORE David was positioned to minister to Saul, a position that proceeded his kingship, the bible said that David was (1) skillful in playing, (2) a mighty man of valor, (3) a man of war, (4) prudent in speech, and (5) a handsome person; AND (6) the LORD is with him, Samuel 16:18.
Having the Holy Ghost or being spiritual is NOT enough to set in motion the preparation of our destiny. We must also activate the talent’s God has already given us!
Jesus is positioning many of you for a “step” that will prepare you for your purpose but, you must first maximize the many gifts the LORD has already given you. For example, for someone your purpose my be to be a wife, a helpmate and maximize the talents of your husband as you both partner in business or ministry, but because you haven’t learned the art of humility, have no business acumen, or haven’t developed patience or time management skills, it would be difficult for you to operate in such capacity. Maybe Jesus is calling you, like David, to operate in a leadership role but you have yet to develop an ability to speak publically, multitask or overcome adversity, therefore, such role would be almost impossible to succeed in.
Receiving Christ or having a relationship with Jesus is just the beginning. To truly be positioned and groomed for purpose, we must FIRST develop a variety of virtues and skillsets. As the Lord leads you, start developing and strengthening your many gifts today! David had 6 gifts BEFORE walking into purpose!
“For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask more” (Luke 12:48).

Prayer:  Dear Holy Spirit, given us the discipline to develop and utilize our gifts!

O LORD, I pray that this post brings forth clarity and assists in building Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
